My daughter and grandson just arrived after spending 3 nights in Boston, MA seeing the Red Sox play and beat the L.A. Angels at Fenway Park, going to the Boston Tea Party Museum and taking a city trolley tour. They arrived on the bus in Hyannis and we went to the very popular and very busy Anejo Restaurant.

Today we took the kayaks to the Bass River from Wilbur Park and went north to Follins pond to see the Osprey and all the sights and sounds of river life.

First Fire of the Summer

Bass River, Cape Cod. Early morning, 4:30 am, trip to the fishing grounds off of Monomoy Island. The goal was to catch Stripped Bass. Massachusetts has sport fishing restrictions related to both the size and number of fish that can be taken daily. Only 1 Stripped Bass between 28 inches and less than 31 inches can each person retain each day. Today we had 4 persons fishing and the charter captain steering the boat. Together we caught, over 5 hours, 30 Stripped Bass. We retained 4 and released 26 back to the water. Lots of really big Stripped Bass were thrown back into the water after removing the line and fishing hook. It was an adventure catching so many in such a short period of time. As an added bonus the retained fish were cleaned and cut into fillets by the boat captain. Each of us received a large quantity of fresh fish to grill and enjoy.
